90 Day Rule for CPL issue?

Post by aerocork2000 » Wed Feb 12, 2020 6:15 pm

Hello.

Does a modular 25 Hour IAA CPL student who recently passed the CPL skill test, also need to have 10 seperate solo hours PIC, before the IAA will issue a CPL within 90 days of submitting a application for a CPL to be issued?

For the IAA PPL it's 5 Hours within 90 days of submitting the application for a IAA PPL, but these 5 Hours can be dual or solo!

It seems for the CPL to be issued, you must have 10 "SOLO" PIC hours on top of the 25 dual hours you do during the CPL training (35 hours?)

Can anyone clarify if those 10 hours can actually be counted as part of the 25 hour as in dual time?

Thank you.

Hi,

I've never heard of the 90 day rule for the issue of a licence. How many hours total time have you got and how many hours PIC total have you got?

The 90 day rule only applies to new PPL Licenses, or new CPL Licences (if completed as part of Integrated course).

Modular CPL Pilot's don't need to conform to the 90 day 10 hours currency rule according to NFC. Thank you.

Hi,

Can you provide more details as I can't find any reference to this rule in any of the regulations?

Thanks,
Mark

Scroll down to the Pilot Training technical requirements; the CPL is part 3. Here is link and picture of the wording saying you need 10 solo PIC hours, along with the 25 dual for a CPL licence to issued in Ireland. http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/eli/2000 ... d1-partiii

Thanks for sending that on, interesting piece of text. Part-FCL overrides national legislation so that rule should not really be enforced unless you're being issued with a national CPL.
