Good morning,

I am looking for some good documentation for repair and maintenance on aircraft

I come from an engine overhaul background and used work off a specific repair manuals (P&W ATA 72-35-00 up to 89 and CFM manuals) and derived repair methods around it.

However I would like to get more familiar with light aircraft repairs and standards.

For example I would like to be able check past repairs or even basic setup (crimping on cables, correct riveting) to ensure all has been done to standards.

Also I do plan on building a kit plane in next year or two so want get familiar with the current standards

Just to ease everyone's minds I will be using this for reference material and also just general interest, I don't plan on setting up my own repair shop tomorrow selling my services.

Hi John,

Just to clarify, are you looking for engine/aircraft maintenance manuals or the rules and regulations?

As most light aircraft are certified to a different standard than commercial aircraft and engines, I'm not sure the information you're looking for is available to that level of detail.

bit of both really,

but mainly a good reference manual. for example if there was a crack repairs on a cowl location by stop drilling and splinting it with aluminum id like see if meets best practices.

The Rotax 912 series engines are very popular these days. The operators manual and maintenance manuals are available to download here https://www.rotax-owner.com/en/support- ... es-engines

In terms of specific maintenance manuals for aircraft types, they are a little more difficult to come across. If you're interested in building an aircraft, I'd recommend you get in touch with one of the associations like the NMAI. They can put you in touch with members who are currently building their own aircraft. I know last week four ICP Savannah / Ventura kits were delivered to Limetree Airfield so that may be a good place to start. They also have finished examples of the aircraft there for you to take a look at.
