Where can I try and subsequently train to fly Gyrocopters in Ireland?

You can't....

Have you an idea of what you are going to do after you obtain a ppl(g)? (if that's what you intend)
It looks like unless you own your own Gyro, options in Ireland are limited.

Hi. I have PPL fixed wing and PPL (H) - which I did when living in UK twenty years ago!
I would only go for the PPL(g) if I intended to buy a Gyro. Ideally something enclosed and with side by side for two persons. Some nice machines now in the market!!

I was thinking to get some experience, maybe start with 20hours on a 1 week trip

I recently obtained my PPL G in the UK , flying at Chiltern Park in Oxfordshire. I flew the German Calidus gyro. Haven’t really used it since as I fly fixed wing instead. Hoping to move to Northern Ireland next year but disappointed at the lack of gyro training generally. With gyros most people buy one when they qualify.
Anyone heard of a gyro instructor called Gerard McAleer who qualified in England but was working in Tyrone I think??

Welcome to the forum. I'm not familiar with the name but I think it could have been at Carrickmore Flying School (https://www.c-moreflyingschool.com/). They were offering gyro instruction at one stage but I'm not sure if they still do. I'm sure if you contact them through their website they'll be able to point you in the right direction.
