The Portlaoise Plane
The Portlaoise Plane,(1908/12) 1st aeroplane to be built & flown in Southern Ireland, manufactured in Maryborough/Portlaoise by the Aldritt Bros. Billy Rogers and John Conroy and successfully flown over the Great Heath of Maryborough (See report here: https://www.writing.ie/tell-your-own-st ... st-sussex/ ) missing from the town for close on 40 years, discovered in an East Sussex museum in 1912 by Joe Rogers, is now finally back home in Ireland.

Re the Portlaoise Plane recently repatriated from East Sussex, it's in a Dublin store just now awaiting restoration.

Please note the year it was found in EastSussex was 2012 not 1912 as stated previously.
