Folks, is there anywhere near Dublin (other than outfits based at Weston or EIDW) where you can pursue the PPL (A) at more competitive rates compared to the excessive prices some of the FTO's are charging at Weston?

Definitely none at Kilrush, and I don't think there is an RTF at trim. You dont need an FTO for a PPL(A) oly an RTF.
As EIAB, there are two:

Aero Club 2000 using Ce150 &172
High Kings using Ce150

Next nearest probably PTC at Waterford.

PM me if you want contact details for the EIAB boys

Hi Chaos,

There are no RTF's or FTO's at Kilrush. Trim has one RTF, the Trim Flying Club. Their website is www.trimflyingclub.com

I think most of Kildare, Carlow, Wicklow and part of Meath (with Gormanston) are off limits to training schools because of the risks associated with the Air Corps opperations- I could be wrong?
