LFA19 very active of late

Those who fly North of the Border may like to be aware that LFA19 (Low Flying Area) has been active of late. Reports and photo's of Tornado's are on several sites including their presence at Aldergrove.

For many this may be a new phenomenon since the cessation of Operation Banner. Remember Rule 5 and take heed of the note regarding RAF low flying on the CAA chart and fly safe. Spotting that 420kt Tornado coming at you up the valley ........

We haven't seen fast jet activity in Northern Ireland for years unless they were attending the Portrush airshow
even then they are only transiting to aldergrove

Arriving / departing from Aldergrove - that's it.No low flying,apart from the pair of Tucanos' that were here a few months ago.

Yes we still have Army helicopters but they are usually on surveillance duties . Tend to hover high up so that they are not heard down below. Not as much as these days.

Not much fast jets as I said and they are only stopping to refuel at Aldergrove.

Fair enough only trying to help - Marham and Lossie both had sorties according to the reports and piccies. Belfast Telegraph reported the test flights in its 31st March edition.
