Air Corps. Formation flying Southside Dublin Today

Post by Cosmic » Tue Nov 09, 2004 4:28 pm

There were 4 Air Corps Pilatus flying reasonably low level in tight formation. I was out working in my Garden and they did a few orbits. Looked and sounded fantastic. Although I did wonder why they were doing what they were doing. I suspect it might have been a flypast at some official event?

Yeah, seen it myself. Pretty impressive indeed! Looked to be at about 500 over the Crumlin area.

Seen them out near the Baldonnel myself. I wonder if what you saw over Dublin was something to do with the president inauguration.

Pilatus four ship formation, over Dublin

Possibly in connection with the inauguration of President Mary McAleese for a further seven year term of office.

Tuesday the 9th was probably a practice session, as they were seen over the city Wednesday 10th as well.

Nice tight formation.

Yeah, Those Aircraft Are Always Flying Over Templeogue Area

Yeah, but as well I've also observed serveral members of the Search & Rescue fleet over flying my area. Infact I saw the Pilatus over my school that day; in the middle of a rugby training match, we lost because I had my head in the clouds, but I thought the aircraft to be more important than than training at that time... Oh how I suffered later!!!
