hour building advise please.

Post by Overpitcher » Mon Jul 09, 2007 11:21 pm

Hello all. I have a PPLH with about 120 hrs, plus recently got a 206 rating, 5 hours plus test. Now need to build about 20 to 30 hours, for as little as possible..(tight budget like us all) for the next stage of the plan. Where on these Islands, would you find a school or otherwise to help with the above, for reasonable Euro.? Thanks in advance for any help.
More money, more lift.

Hour Building

Flying schools make very little, if any profit from SFH, I think your best bet is to try contacting owners direct, and see if any will let you hire their helicopter at a good rate, some of them have probably been in the position you are in now before, we all had to start somewhere! BTW, what type did you do your PPL on?

Good Luck,

Hi Overpitcher,
It may be possible that some owners may allow you to fly them around to build some hours for free.
As long as you are not being paid and the passangers are not being charged for the flight then there is nothing wrong. As well as this the owner gets a 206 rated pilot, all be it low time, for free. Everyones a winner. Just be careful not to get pushed into awkward situations with weather etc just to keep the boss happy. Especially until you fill your bag of experience.

Dont forget when you finally get your CPL you will want to be paid for the same flying .There are loads of CPLs looking for jobs and wanting to get return on their investment.be care about "flying for free ".
