How about guy who played John Deed in the T.V. series Judge John Deed, his name was Martin Shaw. He flies his own Boeing Stearman, which he' has recently restored following a really bad accident in which the plane was almost a write off. the full story of the restoration was shown on one of the Discovery channels.

Remember Gary Numan of Tubeway Army (???) he gave quiet an accomplished aerobatic display as part of a Harvard display team at Baldonnel airshow many years ago....
Or
Remember Barry Lang of 2FM (or Radio 2 ) he became a Airbus pilot and left the sucessfull broadcast profession behind to follow his dream.
