Women in Aviation Fly-In - Waterford Aero Club, Sept 14th

    by mark » Mon Aug 26, 2013 10:43 pm

Laura Russell asked me to post details of the Women in Aviation fly-in in Waterford, see details below.

    Hi everybody!

Waterford Aero Club will host a "Women in Aviation" Fly-In, at Waterford Airport, on the 14th of September 2013. This will be an informal, no speeches, no LinkedIn-network, not-a-Gathering-event get-together for women who fly, who want to fly, or, are otherwise involved in aviation, to meet up, have the chat, drink tea/coffee/whatever and fly aircraft and talk about aviation. If you have an aircraft, please bring it. The Club's own Tecnams and Warrior will be on hand and we hope to have access to some other aircraft for people to enjoy. We are currently negotiating discounted landing fees for female pilots on the 14th, which we hope to confirm closer to the date.

Although we want to particularly extend this invite to female pilots (whether qualified or enthusiast!), we of course would like to see everybody attend - male or female. So pass the invite around!

In case of poor weather, Saturday the 21st will be used as a reserve day.

Hope to see you all there!

    Laura Russell

A small but important update: I can confirm that there will be free landing fees for all visiting pilots on the Saturday thanks to the Airport. So no need to wear those wigs guys
The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no.

    Hi all,
Many thanks to all who turned up for this event. Mary Russell played a blinder with hot grub and the Club members were outstanding. The weather was lovely and there was quite a bit of flying on. Decathlon EI-BIV, Bellanca N7600E and Cessna G-EICK were among the aircraft attending. Well done to all!
