    Hi Addict,

Not sure to be honest, I only heard about this event last week. No harm going down and having a look - it's free in after all!

    Regards,
    Mark

    Hi Addict
To fill you in a little, and anyone else that's wondering . .
The purpose of the weekend is to give people, any people, the opportunity to see the industry across a spectrum, We wouldn't be flying if there weren't Aeronautical Engineers to design aircraft, Engineers and Technicians to keep them flying safely, and of course ATC to keep them apart!
Part of what we do is bring Transition Year students in for a day to meet some of these people and talk about the job. Its a great day out for them and as aviation is hardly mentioned as being a career possibility, we show them that there are lots of options there, and some very close to home maybe. These days are very successful and we decided to do one for the public generally.
We have had calls from parents of 12 year olds who want to be Aeronautical Engineers and we have one gent in his 70s heading off to Florida next week, so its not age related !

We invited PTC and Atlantic, and of course they would like a few students!
We have some Airline pilots coming too, they will be in the B737-800 doing approach and landings with people, so that's a cool and rare opportunity to see whats ahead of you for the future ATPLs out there.

Limerick Flying Club will be there too, a lot of people start at club level, and many have started in Coonagh. The PPLs and Instructors at the club do excellent work with us in the Young Eagles Programme. We fly around 100 kids every year and its a credit to the goodwill of these guys,. A great start for kids and a good club like LFC is hard to beat for great flying.

The aim is to give anyone interested in aviation the information they need, first hand from those now in those careers.
So come along, as Mark says , admission is free,
there is a charge for the Sim's

    Thanks
