Ardfert Runway Information Update for all visiting Pilots

RWY 400m with a metre high obstacle on both sides
runway 33 is slightly down hill and you cross a large quarry on approach
Grass strip is on Limestone surface i.e. its rock solid all year round.
Last year we had a variety of Aircraft. I think nobody had any problems.
C150, C170, C172, Suk 26, RV7 and a variety of Microlights etc..

Great fun

Any questions give us a shout on 0871234546

Jim

Ardfert SummerFest Air Display

Post by RYR144 »

Hi All,
Everything is going great for the date - 26th July

It's going to be a great day with a brilliant Fly-In and Aerobatic Display in the evening by Gerry Humphrey's, Eddie Goggins & David Bruton and many other aviation related activities in the village of Ardfert...1 mile from the airfield.

Please see the Events page (not the one on the forum) for more info including the frequency.

All we can do now is pray for the good weather!

Safe Flying,
Seán

Ardfert AirDisplay & FlyIn 2009

Post by RYR144 »

Anybody that wants to Fly-In on the Saturday (day before) and enjoy the Ardfert SummerFest Nite-Life would be more than welcome, camping at site is no problem- toilet & shower facilities available or there's a selection of hotels & B+B's just a few miles from the airstrip & transport, taxi's etc. can be arranged.

Jerry cans & transport for fuel available. Bar-B-Que @ 3 o' clock on Sunday and lots of aviation related activity taking place on the day and of course the Air Display at 6 o' clock which will include the Search & Rescue Sikorski, Sukhoi Su-26, Vans RV7, Extra 300 among others.

Any queries ring 087-2214648

So fingers crossed for fine weather and see ye all real soon!

I'd love to come but I think its a bit tight for the cherokee. I'll be there if I can beg, borrow or steal a C172-S from Cork. (the club usually don't allow their aircraft into private strips)
