I'd like to thank Breeda and all in Knock for their efforts. Was an enjoyable weekend. Tenting was, interesting to say the least..

I'd like to thank cubpilot for the spin up in the Bellanca, I fall in love with it more and more each time we fly it.

Nice pic mark, I was mid lunch, it had travelled up in lauras pocket all the way from EIWF. Can't beat crumbled biscuits :D.

I would also like to thank Breeda and the crew for hosting a very enjoyable event. Lovely airport and very nice people.

As for the camping... Perhaps the lads in the hangar might put some soil on backorder for us. It seems to be all rock up there! Still though, the camping was very enjoyable.

Finally, thanks to cubpilot for the spin in the bellanca.

Glad to have had the company of the three of you for the trip and also a big thanks to all the folks in Knock who hosted the weekend.
now the camping was fine in the engineers tent, a tad cold but awake at dawn the views over mayo were superb. Cannot possibly make any comment about the pilots only attempt at camping!!!!!!!!

cubpilot - You cannot possibly expect a physicist and a pilot to set up a tent together.

Has Knock Recovered?

Post by CyriltheSquirrel » Fri May 08, 2009 9:52 pm

It's almost a week since we stood in Ryans in Kiltamagh at 00am plus VAT sort of stuff quietly murmering the national anthem.
And looking out the window at a clear blue sky wishing you were in the sky pottering about or looking forward to the spin to Knock - out with the plotters and map - none of this GPS lark!!!! Thinking of the slagging ye can deliver, the charachters you always meet at fly in's never mind the crowd you fly with.
When ye start to ponder, isn't flying deeply magical at times - invades the soul and something you can never explain.
Bring on the summer and more fly-in's - Breda ye wouldn't thinking of doing a late summer shin dig?????

Cheerio

Hi Cyril and all,

You'd never know; if we got enough interest and coaxing we might do something 'small' in Aug/Sept - that's a maybe though!!!!

Delighted that you all enjoyed our event so much.

Breeda

Lads,

Can anyone remember who won the prizes on the night? Need it for the magazine article ASAP. I know EI-BCM won the oldest aircraft.

Also, can anyone remember what year the last fly-in was held in Knock.

Thanks in advance,
Mark
