Salthill Air Show 2007 - 24th June

Post by IrishAirPics » Fri Feb 23, 2007 9:15 am

Hi Guys,

Here's the first participant list for the Salthill Air Show on Sunday 24th June:

USAF
Thunderbirds

RAF
Tucano (included on the Tucano display website provisional listing)

Irish Air Corps
Pilatus PC-9M
CASA CN235-100MP Persuader
Eurocopter EC135P2
Agusta Westland AW139 (first outing at Salthill)

It's early days yet so the list should grow, the Irish Air Corps should send some more aircraft, I (personally speaking) hope that they send the recently purchased Avro Cadet (oldest flying original Air Corps aircraft) and the soon to be retired Alouette III.

Salthill Air Show website here: http://www.salthillairshow.com

Frank.

I had the pleasure of seeing the Thunderbirds performe yesterday at Mc Guire AFB New Jersey. A beautiful display of perfection. The two ladies on the team are beautiful to say the least. I also had the pleasure to fly our club aircraft in for the display (Diamobd DA 20) who's tail bearly made it to the top of one of the wheels of a C-5 we passed on the way to our parking spot, talk about feeling small. I would highly recommend seeing them at Salthill...you want noise...awesome.

I would have to say thier show is about thirty minutes long. At no time was there long time periods forming up. Thier show was tight and they had something going on all the time. They have some very exciting surprises too. The narration is very good too, as are the pieces of music they play during thier display. Being that they are launching from a remote site(Shannon) you'll miss the excellent groung display put on by the groung crew prior to the take off. As always your your own best critic, but every time I see them they just get better, and having two ladies on the team adds a bit of spice to it all. I hope you'll all get a clear day for the performance, it'll be worth the drive.....enjoy :D
