Now confirmed in today's Indo...
THE world famous US Air Force Thunderbirds aerobatic team are to visit Galway this summer. It's a major coup for the Salthill Airshow.

The team, in their red, white and blue F-16C Fighting Falcon jets, are expected to attract crowds of well over 100,000 people when they perform in Galway on June 24 at the free show as they visit Ireland for the first time.

Ireland is only one of seven European countries the Thunderbirds will visit during 2007.

When the team last appeared in Europe in 1996 3.5m people turned out to see them.

Salthill will be the first stop on their European tour.

Last weekend the advance party for what is regarded as America's finest aerobatic team were in Galway to see the venue.

Airshow organisers said the Thunderbirds team had never seen a finer or more beautiful location for an airshow then Salthill with Galway Bay and the Burren mountains in the background.

The team will perform about thirty manoeuvres in their supersonic fighter jets including group formation flying and solo demonstrations.

The 2007 team of pilots includes the US Air Force's first female jet demonstration pilot.

Tucano will hopefully be more exciting than the bit of stuff the Air Corps did last year. More solo displays, and less of the helicopters this year. Dave Bruton in EI-SAM would be a great crowd pleaser.

You cant please everybody you know and seeing as its FREE you would think you would appreciate that besides im sure they ask for lots of Aircraft but you should know that you can only get what Airforces etc are willing to send  Grow up.

Thought you might have something along those lines to say Heliops. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
