End of Season BBQ at Ballyboy

Post by damienair » Tue Aug 26, 2014 6:38 pm

To celebrate a fantastic Summer of aviation in Ireland and Ballyboy we have decided to close out the season with a BBQ. We are inviting our friends from near and far to come and demonstrate their skills at the controls of their plane. Thats right folks we are running a spot landing, timed circuit and flour bombing competion. Weather permiting we plan to host this BBQ on Saturday August 30th. If the forecast is poor we will delay until the Sunday, so please keep these dates free!

We are running this competion in memory of all those aviators who have sadly passed away over the years. We all know someone who used to hold up the VFR chart across the cockpit on a cross country, help pull the plane out of the hangar or always offered a quick spin to anyone who may have been around the field, who are now no longer with us. We at Ballyboy would like to remember in particular,
Paul Eivers, Trim. John Bailey, Ballbrigan. Sean Donohoe, Navan. Pat O'Donnell, Trim and Joe McNamara, Kildalkey, whom were close to us at Ballyboy.

The competition will be split into two categories, Fixed Wing and Flex Wing, based on the best culmalative score in all 3 stages.

Rules and format for the competion will be posted closer to the event so watch this space and our Facebook pages for updates.

All Microlights with up to date insurance welcome.

Cheers,

Damien.
