Yellow "new" Icons dissappear on second viewing

Post by hugoj_air » Wed Feb 11, 2009 11:45 pm

Mark,

I wouldn't call it a problem as such, but for instance when I now go into
the forum it's instantly obvious which are the new postings. But if I have
to leave the forum before I have opened all the new posts and quickly return, all the unopened posts have lost there yellow icon indicating
"new" and I then have to scroll down slowly checking each date to pick
out the unopened posts.
Would it be possible to "show" all posts until they are actually opened.

Hugo.

Hi Hugo,

Thank you for your suggestion. It would be very difficult to change the forum as you have suggested. At the moment, the forum remembers the last time you logged in, and displays every post since then in the yellow icons. For the forum to remember what topics you read would require the use of cookies which are stored on your computer each time you visit. I know very little about these but I'll have a look into it to see if it can be done, but don't count on it!

Regards,
Mark

Thanks Mark,

I had an idea it might not be just a simple fix, so I'll just have to ensure
I read ALL the new posts before I log out or get used to checking each
date for the new ones if I go out and come back in. Dont kill yourself trying to resolve this preceived "problem".

Hugo.
