Ye, I've got some decent pics of flying over dublin up there too! I'm sure most people do!

Kinda removes the anonymity of it all though!! That bother people you think?

I think you miss the point.
bebo page = current FII readers + their bebo friends = more FII readers and posters on this forum. Did you really think I meant replace this forum with a bebo page? Bebo is free advertising. Suck it up.

Nah dont worry, I knew you didnt mean to replace the forum. Im just personally against organisations etc with their own Bebo pages, especially commercial companies.

Theres already a huge load of Irish aviation bebos that 'spam' aerosexuals on their profiles saying to join; Ryanair fan club, Aer Lingus fan club, Dublin Airport fans etc etc the list goes on.

I know a FII one wouldnt be as immature as some of them profile owners, but Id still prefer to see it stick to the website. I know for a fact my friends wouldnt come visit here if they saw I was a member of FII Bebo site.. its just not in their interest.

Theyre my 2 cents, dont shoot me!

Yeah, but in fairness, I wouldn't class FII as a 'commercial organisation' (although i suppose the magazine is) but the forums are a meeting place for like-minded people. I can't see there being a problem with it!

Irish Aero Sports has one (nothing to do with me) but i think I might know who's responsible

Normally I would suggest you just go ahead and set up one anyway [because that's what most people do, regardless of whether they are involved in the organisation or not] but in this instance i reckon it would be up to Mark and no-one else, and so i would be interested to see what he thinks about it.

The more I think about it the more I actually think it would be a good idea! I think it would be a good way for mark to get the word out about new editions of the magzine and things like that to people who might not necessarily check the forum all the time!

And again, its a great way to host and share your photo's!

but I do agree with you Nano! Its up to Mark, and not for anyone else to start up!

Only my thoughts!

Nothing stopping you setting up an Irish Private Pilots group though...

That kind of group is two a penny. I personally do not want to set up any group. It was merely a suggestion for Mark to sell his wares more effectively. I think those social networking sites are a great way for business to grow. I noticed UCD paid to advertise their courses on bebo... In the future these sites will become even more pervasive and I would like to have Mark's magazine news automatically show up in my newsreader which can be done on bebo with the rss blog...

I vote a big huge YES for an FII Bebo page - it may be entirely superfluous, but it really does create alot more hype and popularity for the organization in question. As soon as you gain some friends, you'll be visted by all those friends' friends and so on.

Unfortunately, those flying groups and bands (such as www.bebo.com/IrishP2) are two a penny, as mentioned. But if a permanent one was set up, I don't doubt it would generate alot of publicity.

Does anyone know who IrishP2 is?
My bebo page is private, I havent posted details of it anywhere whatsoever yet he/she invited me as a friend, and I can't figure out how they found my page, or even more so knew I was a pilot
