The arrival of the A380 at Oshkosh has brought with it a little contoversy,it seems...

The landing seemed perfectly acceptable to me,given the crosswind and short runway?

Great video..... Particularly the A380 departure.....
In relation to the first video of the A380 landing (Which has now been removed) Click here for vid
There's been massive debate. My analysis being that the captain (An RV8 builder + flyer) did a great short field, cross wind landing. He hadn't all the narrow and short runway available because the only taxiway capable of handling this beautiful beast was not at the end of it.
The general consensus from internet debate is that tho the landing was harder than routine, it was still well within acceptable tolerances. And the 777 Captain doing the analysis is clearly an Airbus bashing Boeing fanboy.
Wish I was there to have seen it myself.......

I was there when it landed. Before they taped it off, in its parking spot, we were under the wing and saw a lot of techs examining the landing gear, they extended the flaps and inspected them.
While we didn't see the actual touchdown we were wondering what all the fuss seemed to be about. None the less seeing the video later, it certainly looked like a hard landing.

Didn't it take off like an hour later for its display ? ?
Semi-Composite construction seems to be the way to go.....
