Are my old 7 CAA Exams valid

Post by johnc24 » Wed Sep 10, 2014 5:29 pm

Hi all,

I completed my old 7 CAA exams on the 15th August 2013 - valid for 2 years.

I was speaking with an FTO who informed I would have to repeat Air Law, Flight planning and performance as well as operational procedures.

I was under the impression that if I completed all 7 before the end of September 2013 they would be valid for the subsequent two years for PPL issue.

Anyone any thoughts. I plan to call the CAA in any case, I'm just very curious and would love to know sooner rather than later.

Cheers all

Best,
John

Hi John,

You will be happy to know your exams are still valid. You will need to complete you flight test by 14 August 2015. The CAA Information Notice 2013/061 is very clear on the transitional arrangements between the old and new systems. You can take a read of it for yourself at http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?a ... il&id=5510" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
