Saitek vs CH flight sim controls

I'm hoping to start an IR in the next few weeks, and was thinking about buying a set of flight controls and Flight Sim to practise at home. I was considering either the

Saitek Pro Flight Yoke System

CH Flight Sim Yoke

I've seen plenty of reviews about the Saitek "phantom keys" problem on the web, which I believe have been fixed. I'm just wondering if

1) Anyone has experience with one or both of these, and what do you think about them?
2) For anyone who's done an IR - if you bought a set of controls and used it with Flight Sim, did they help you much during training?
3) Is there a shop around Dublin that you can go into to take a look at these? (I've done a quick Google search, but can't see any.)

Thanks in advance

Used both, Saitek one for me all the way.
I didn't use anything prior or during my Ir, but did after it to keep current.
I now fly under IFR daily, I still use the yoke in coordination with FSX regularly to practice raw instrument stuff.
Saitek gets the thumbs up from me. If you're South Dublin you can have a look at mine although I just run it on a standard laptop.

Thanks for the info Kieth, the Saitek seemed to get good press alright. I'll be using them with Flight Sim on a laptop with a 2.2 GHz CPU and 2 GB RAM, so there should be plenty of welly there. Afraid I've a couple of things on at the minute, so I won't be able to drop over to take a look at the setup you're using. Fair play for the offer.
