PPL Sills test

Post by Caroline » Fri Nov 13, 2009 8:20 pm

I was just wondering what are the chances of completing my ppl skills test between now and the end of the year. I have nearly finished my training and it seems like a really bad time to do the test, weatherwise and VFR wise.
Has anyone done a test at this time of the year?
Would I be better off waiting until the new year when the weather gets better?

I did my cpl test on december 30th, perfect day for flying :D
A good winters day is better for the tests than a good summers days!
If you are asking me if this old plane is safe to fly, how do you think it got to be this old?

No this is as good a time of the year as any. Once you have an examiner lined. It's just a question of their availability coinciding with a good day. Look at today for example, perfect for a test, at least where I'm sitting. I did my 300 mile CPL cross country on a January day. It was a bit of race but I made it. A ppl test should be fine.

If you put it off you'll have to keep current anyway. The type of days you can fly on are usually good enough for tests too. So there's no point in delaying.

well done Caroline. I just got mine before Christmas. Really great feeling. Mine was in SA though, but I still had some trouble with weather!
