Yeah ATC don't seem to find it funny anymore!

Will be gettin the loan as late as I can, same as yourself I'll be workin full time through the ATPLs then hour building and holiday before taking it out.

Did you need a guarantor or someones deeds?? and any possibility on deffered payment? BoI mentioned a 3 month deffered payment but interest rates were higher.

JFH wrote:If we take PTC for example to give an idea on prices this is what it would cost.
JAA ATPL theroy course=?2,800.
JAA CPL=?9,000
JAA MEP=?4,000
JAA MEIR=?19,000
JAA MCC(parc aviation)=?5,000

PTC mailed me the actual prices as follows:

JAA ATPL theroy course=?2,800 + ?105 p/exam = ?4,270
JAA CPL=?7,825
JAA MEP=?3,210
JAA MEIR=?17,730

Prices above are doing the minimum hours, Which i dont think anyone
actually does (Or do they get by with the minimum)
Obviously their are extra charges like landings, Exam Fee etc

How much are the exam fees for the CPL, MEP and the MEIR?

This is gonna be great :D

Roughly how long will it take does anyone know???
If you do the reccommended 16hrs study a week i think it is!!!

Thanks again JFH

Just to keep you informed, I was on to Sigmar and they said they'll be starting up the Bristol course in a month or so. Wonder how long 'so' could be??

This is true, wouldn't give me a firm answer so wouldn't hold my breath. I'm hoping to start around Oct/Nov so might as well keep an eye on them.

Good luck with PTC, let me know how you get on with them

Haven't got to the stage of paying yet!!!

I suppose i wont be paying the ?15k a go though!!!
I'll only be doing the ATPL's with em first and see how i get on there.
It's only 2800 so i obviously dont have to pay the ?15k a go!!
You only need to pay ?15k a go if you do the whole Airline course with them the guy on the phone said!
(I hope)

If i could i'd DEFINATLY do it IN HOUSE.
But to be honest i can't just quit work!!!
I dont have that much savings and id never get a loan for the CPL etc
with no job or savings....

I'll still be able to save and to it the DL way.
And if i'm still in work i'll get paid while completing the 2 1 week revision courses.
Hope i've made the right descision!!!! :? :? :? :? :?

It's all a matter of money!

Thank's for the link mr crow but I think Bristol looks better for the DL, In my opinion anyway (it has shiny pictures! ) just hoping Sigmar re open it in the "month or so" so I don't have to fork out a load of cash going to Engerland.

Same plan 747, reckon most banks will be looking for at least 6 months full time employment, maybe even a year before they'll give you squat, and with all that staying at home during the week and weekends you'll have a nice bit saved by the time you get your results. Not going to be fun using your holiday leave to study though!!

I'll be working full time for three years by the time i'm finished the ATPL's
at this stage. And it's not so bad taking two weeks hols from work to study.

I actually get 9-10 weeks paid holidaya a year, I do shift work with 3 days on,
4 days off and vice versa so i actually get 9-10 10 day holidays.
And the 2 weeks doesn't include time for sitting the exams!!! :(

Are the exams sat over a few days???
It's hardly all in the 1 day like the PPL exams is it!!!!
