Selected candidates will be required to enter into an agreement with the Company, which will require them to bind themselves for ten (10) years from the date of appointment as Junior First Officer.
Crikey, I think that is the most restrictive bond I have ever heard of. You would "get" less for killing somone!

I found the advert interesting. It shows how little recent experience Aer Lingus have recruiting pilots. I can't think of many airlines that give an e-mail address out for pilots to send CVs to. Nearly all airlines have online forms to deter dreamers and to stop the HR people reading "War and Peace" style 500 page C.Vs
The requirments are also quite vague apart from the fact they have a preference for Airbus rated Pilots. It certainly doesn't exclude freshly pressed fATPL'ers, so I would imagine Aer Lingus will be flooded with aplications from them.
Best of Luck to everyone!

To be considered for a position as Aer Lingus Direct Entry Pilot, applicants must be able to meet the following essential criteria:
IAA or JAR- FCL ATPL (or Frozen ATPL).
Current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
Permanently eligible to live and work in Ireland with an unrestricted worldwide passport.
The requirements are a touch ambiguous. They ask for rated pilots but leave the door open to anyone with the basics. They will receive my CV. Maybe finally, I'll fly the shamrock tail.....
This bit below is pure corporate BS. Companies look for this for every job from factory operator to CEO. My brother in Aer Lingus told me he was subjected to some of this lately. Now I believe him.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
Strong leadership potential with well developed teamwork skills.
A broad awareness of our customers' expectations.
Self motivated, flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude to change as part of a low fares airline
I've seen the same line used for people on minimum wages. It is absolute rubbish. Sad to see EI going down the corporate BS route even for their pilots.
