Jet pilot programme opportunity

Post by FLYbyWIT » Sat Oct 22, 2005 6:14 pm

Hey guys and gals, this may be of interest for some of you.
Sigmar aviation are running in conjunction with cityjet a pilot programme which I gather takes you from ab-initio or pre-ppl stage to cpl and then a position with cityjet. I dont know any details other then there is a scheme available for yee of little experience about to embark on self funded training.
Grab it with both hands if you can, selection includes medical/phsyo/apptitude etc etc. check out sigmaraviation.com for application form under jet pilot programme. I would have loved an opportunity like this when I started out, but I happy enough with me scarebus for now- 380 is in my sights now........

Any idea who is behind Sigmar Aviation? If you would prefer to PM it to me.

Would it be vulgar to raise such a topic as money?
We who fly do so for the love of flying. We are alive in the air with this miracle that lies in our hands and beneath our feet.

A poster on pprune has suggested that approx costs would be ?100k but that they hadn't yet been finalised. Obviously that would include a BAe146 rating.

Sigmar aviation is a subsidiary of Sigmar Recruitment who recruit for other industries such as finance, accountancy etc.

We occasionally use them recruiting for positions here in the IFSC. They're a real outfit and professional in what they do (inasmuch as any recruitment agency can be above board).

ok i had the assessment for this today, apart from the test being fine, its a bit of a joke and NOT an opportunity(jerez and oxford are cheaper),its absolutely nothing to do with cityjet,no gaurantee of a place, they just interview you for a possible place but nothing solid, not even a rep from cityjet appeared.the finance of the program, the loan of 95K must be backed against a house,no thanks. The finance broker didnt really know what was going on.

Its the same thing as oxford or jerez having selection tests, because i dont think sigmar have a deal with cityjet,as jerez do with flybe, who actually monitor the students progress, cityjet DO NOT.

As for the 95K loan off a 'shark' there is better opportunities as jerez is 92k,very similar and the 3k cheaper, the other 3k probably going to the sigmar coffers, fair enough there is flights to SA included, but oxford cover flight costs too,you have the same chance of getting a RHS after this as you do if you get your own loan and train wherever you want.

Also the fact of paying 36k up front, and then 3 installments of 19k within 6 months of starting is a bit insecure.

That is my opinion.

And over to you mr.bungle for your opinion.
