Well competition is good.....keeps company's like Aer Fungus on their toes, thank goodness for Ryanair otherwise we'd be forced to fly with Aer Fungus at ridiculously high prices.

Hi all,

As i from waterford id love to see this happen for aer arann i think its great idea an hopefully theyl pull threw and send some of them jets to the sunny south-east !!

There's a good article on RE in the latest Airliner World magazine; features delivery flight of new AT7 as well.

I think the future looks quite good for RE, especially if they can work out a co-operative deal with EI; there's quite a lot of routes that EI flies that don't really make sense with an A320 (in terms of frequency); using regional jets (which RE has already hinted at) makes sense and between EI and RE, DUB can achieve its potential as a hub.

EI has recently announced that it is to bring in a new fleet plan, with the intention to increase numbers beyond the 42 planned aircraft; I wonder if there is scope for both carriers to work together, to try and work in a way which plays to each other's strengths and is mutually beneficial.
