Standard and non-standard overhead joins in Ireland

Post by Papa8 » Fri Sep 21, 2007 11:58 pm

Could I just ask the FII forumers for, I suppose, a watchlist if you like of any airfields that do not follow the standard overhead join and what the non-standard procedures are in these cases? I have heard that some airfields in some countries join straight on the downwind rather than abeam the upwind runway threshold. Spanish Point has or at least used to have 1000ft QFE circuits as does Bantry for example. The fact that some airfields have RH circuits instead of left-hand was not really what I had in mind here as much as deviations from the 1500 descend deadside to 800 rule.
