In the meantime, the Council is doing a full audit of the Airport.
They did'nt say why. But it sounds like the airport will remain
closed for a few more days. Assuming they come to some sort of
agreement with the CAA as to how quickly the Council can carry
out the proper repairs and further (bird scaring) training required
by the CAA. Another proplem would be the lack of proper drainage
of water from the runway. That could be major obstacle for them to
overcome. Hope it wont be too long before it re-openes as my
sister and her husband are due to fly in mid June.
