AerArran New routes

Post by Dublin Spotter » Mon Mar 08, 2004 3:30 pm

Aer Arann has announced three new UK services - Waterford to Manchester, Kerry to Manchester and Donegal to Glasgow Prestwick. The airline predicts that the new routes, which start on May 3, will add an extra 30,000 passengers during their first year of operation.

The airline has also added a new 66 seater aircraft to its fleet which has enabled it to launch these additional services and additional capacity on its Galway and Waterford to London Luton route.

More from Aer Arann!

Great news, not just for RE, its people and the airports concerned. It's great to see a small airline building itself up so successfully.

I remember reading, not so long ago, about how many flights RE had from GWY each day and it's quite a number. Now there's more for CKF and WAT, the latter of which was nearly on its deathbed not so long ago.

Best of luck to them. I really must fly with them sometime. Amazing to think that only a few years ago, they were only flying Islanders to the Aran Islands!

What type of aircraft have they purchased. Is it an ATR 42/72? :?:

KIR - MAN 3x weekly (Mon, Wed and Fri)
CFN - PIK 2x weekly (Mon and Fri)

I've heard that the London LTN routes are doing the best with both Galway and Waterford holding around 85% load factors.

No wonder the 72 in going on the route for Summer.

No they are keeping it with one rotation for the summer. Better off to see it with one full plane than two half full ones...

Anyone know anything about the possibility of Aer Arann opening up the Birmingham and Manchester routes that are available from Derry?

Aer Arann should be announcing this week morning/evening services from Galway & Waterford to London Luton. These and the existing services will be operated by ATR72's.

Also hear the possibility of third destination being announced from Waterford.

I,ve heard talk to-day that there is a possibility that Aer-Arann will be operating an extra Wat-Ltn service early morning and another returning that evening aswell as the normal service.

I,ve also heard rumors of a Wat to france service via the UK.

The load factors for Wat have increased to something like 90% so I have heard.
