Check out The Jamaica Observer

They make it sound as if Air Jamaica are doing Eirjet a favour. It's actually the other way around. Eirjet have had to rescue JM on many occasions since December. Can anyone spot the other glaring inaccuracies?

A loss of J$8 billion sure looks like a lot, wonder how much that is in real money. :?:

This artilce states that Air Jamacia owns these Aircraft are are only leased to Eirjet, I taught that Eirjet had leased these under wet lease agreement to Air Jamacia, am I wrong here.

Are these infact Air Jamacia aircraft sub - sub leased to Eirjet?

Now that doesn't seem very right at all!

J$8 billion is 101,636,633.10 EUR (according to www.xe.com) which is still a huge figure for an airline with 20/15 aircraft!

Some more glaring innaccuracies;

It now has two Airbus A320s and one Boeing 757.

Having leased one of its A320s from Air Jamaica, Eirjet decided to change the aircraft's instrumentation to the metric system

WHAT is that all about? :D

I have a feeling this has to do with the fact the aircraft previously had the fuel system in pounds and Eirjet converted it to Kilos. In the USA the FAA require the former and in Europe the latter is required. TransAer also had this problem but got approval to keep the system in pounds. This was because the aircraft regularly flew in the USA for it's sister company TransMeridien.

Nope.....Air Jamaica previously leased them from GECAS, the lease was up so Eirjet have now leased them from GECAS. DKG is on a ACMI contract until April with Air Jamaica.

Thanks to the Eirjet ops manager for this.
