From November 24, Aer Arann will run only three return flights on the route, with the cheapest one-way fare of E29.99 excluding tax. Ryanair plans to begin operating three return flights on the same day with equivalent fares as low as 99 cent.
A spokesperson for Aer Arann said the move would not affect staff numbers in Cork in the short term, as the airline would continue to offer flights to Birmingham, Bristol, Southampton, Edinburgh and Belfast City.
Any chance of further routes to Lorient like GWY nonstop or KIR? Pity they don't market WAT-GWY, or else transfer the stop to ORK because bus/train to Galway from Cork is brutal.
