Anyone know when the new Pilatus PC-9M aircraft for the Air Corps are being delivered?

Pictures of the Pilatus are available at: http://www.irishairpics.com/aircorps/index.html
They are supposed to be delivered at the end of March but I'm not sure what date. I'll keep searching.

The latest Irish Air Letter says 260 made first flight on 6 Feb as HB-HQS and is to go to Austria for weapons trials.

Consequently 261 is likely to be the first we will see here.

All aircraft are expected in Ireland by mid year, but no delivery dates were indicated.

Hi all,

The first 3 of 9 PC-9M's arrived in formation at Baldonnel, did a 10 min display and at 1510 all 3 landed runway 23.

Anyone know when they'll be out flying next?

jezuz,

260? heathen, SF 260 (Stelio Frati), designer of one of the most beauftiful aircraft in the world, give the man his dues for this design who's roots are 50 years old next year

anyway, as to their sale, the warrior wing puts them way of out private or permit use( IMHO)

Even for externally-slung loads or agricultural use?

See http://www.aaiu.ie/upload/general/4776-0.pdf for other example!

Hi all
the Cessnas have long had their firing circuits removed. It would be equally simple to do the same to the Marchettis. The aperature in the wing where the pylon fits could easily be riveted over. There is talk that the Belgian Air Force are interested in taking them. More importantly, what will be bought to replace the 172s, or has that function already been catered for by the Defender?.
regards
S.

The PC-9,s flew what i THINK was their first public display on the 19th June at the Kinair. The aircraft flown were 262,266,267. They flew some formation and then a simuated go around onto 27 and then flew back to Baldonnell

This week's Flight International (p.18) reports that our Strategic Fighter Wing  will be arming the PC9s with seven rockets and (on each) wing a 2in machine gun.

Thank goodness. I'm flying home tomorrow and I feel so much safer.

They will not be able to take off with the weight and so get caught in traffic jams on the M50
