Night VFR approved in Shannon FIR - but nowhere has lights

As I'm sure a lot of you are aware, Night VFR outside a CTZ has been approved.

The only problem is, is that nowhere has runway lights apart from the regionals (Sligo, Knock, Waterford, Kerry etc.), Newtonards and Enniskillen Airport. Has anyone heard anything in relation to some of the smaller uncontrolled airports/airfields installing runway lighting? It would be a good facility to be able to push beyond the limits of Day VFR when running late. The American system is great where the vast majority of small uncontrolled airports have the double click on the frequency to turn on the lights and adjust the intensity.

For anyone that has a private strip, I think that you need to have it licensed to begin with and then separately approved for night ops or so it seems to me from reading it unlike some of the private strips in the UK that have runway lighting.

How and ever it's still a step forward!

Indeed, a big step forward!

I feel a VFR flight between some of the regionals coming on :D
