Most will have heard of the incident by now, but some abroad still monitor the site and may have met them but not yet heard the sad news.
No reports of emergency radio calls and one would imagine that, assuming control was still possible and with some altitude, a better site would have been picked to put it down. This might suggest structural failure of some variety.
