That speedtwin looks like the coolest thing ever. Aerobatic, multi, tailwheel, short fielder with a stick and two seats. Would be some toy to have. The performance looks amazing, and the systems quite clever. The little servos on the bottom of the fuselage quite novel indeed. The other one with the wheel spats looks a little slicker. G-GPST
fast, economical, short field ability and aerobatic. what more do you need.
I had the luck to fly in the first speed twin some years ago and it was a delight to fly. I believe the minimum control speed is below normal take off speed, single engine performance is good. that aircraft had two Continental 0-200s with fixed pitch wood props.
The outer wing panels were taken directly from a Glos Airtourer. fuselage is steel tube with sheet panel covers to give the body shape and so is very rugged.
An aircraft that should have been put into production either fully built or as a homebuilt kit.
Sounds like a twin RV Think I'd prefer 2 x RVs BTW, if you want to see 2 in action come to the Irish festival of speed in Limerick tomorrow or Sat.. displays at 11 and 14:00 each day..
