Tail Wheel Sign Off for PPL

Post by logie101 » Wed Mar 27, 2013 1:20 pm

I would be grateful if anyone could clarify the current position regarding Tail wheel sign off for a new PPL?

As a relatively new PPL holder I have been doing a bit of flying with a friend (very experienced taildragger PPL) in a tailwheel aircraft. Is it possible to log any of this time? I have in a de facto sense been operating as P1. But is it possible to log it as such?

In regards sign-off do you need to be signed off by a suitably qualified pilot or must it be an instructor?

Tailwheel difference training does require a sign off from an instructor.
