Its just a large field !
Easy enough found, look for the graveyard and the golfclub, its between them.
Been in there often for a meal, but flying a microlight and no problems at all.... not sure about the 172, someone with experience of such no doubt will advise better.
Lovely place and we be there a few times a year.

Its never ever been busy when we went there, and that includes the height of summer!... in fact the only planes I've seen there is ours!
We always go as a group of planes and have something to eat at the golfclub..(great food, recommended!)
Its a shame that it isn't used more, in a beautiful part of Ireland.

Hi JFH,

Have a look at my database using the link below. It has three aerial photos of the airstrip at Belmullet.
Useing search type in Belmullet, three thumbnails will show plus a helipad nearby.
If you want copies let me know and I'll email them to you. Only ever visited by road, so unable to help with aviation details. Very do'able in the Rallye.
