What a turn out at EIKK yesterday, but can someone tell me where have all the portacabins gone and why?!

I heard a vague rumour about planning issues. Someone objected I think?

Hopefully only temporary planning issues which will be resolved in due course. The airfield has been in operation since 1962 and has been a licensed airfield for much of that time. It has also enjoyed the support of the Local Authority for many years and has contributed to the local area as an amenity and gateway for tourism.
The planning issues arose partly due to complaints from a neighbour and while the majority of our neighbours support the airfield, we have to accept the fact that not everyone loves aeroplanes!
If you are planning to visit Kilkenny by air, please check out our new website http://www.kilkennyairfield.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and ring for PPR. Please observe the noise abatement procedures. Our circuit height is now 1000ft QFE and hopefully this will reduce noise levels on the ground.
Look forward to seeing you at Kilkenny in the near future.

Always a brilliant airfield to fly into.
Will make a few visits I am sure over the summer.
Hopefully all issues will get sorted in due course.
