Kinnitty Castle Deal

Post by NAG » Wed Feb 29, 2012 9:12 pm

p.245 in the first edition of Aviators Guide to Ireland, you'll find Kinnitty Castle (a 440m x 20m grass strip) and this evening I just noticed that they have a deal on for a one (or two) night stay there through LivingSocial. So, I thought I'd put it out there in case someone fancied a nice little jaunt to Co.Offaly.

If anyone does go with the intention of flying there, it would be interesting to hear a report on how you got on.

Happy landings.

Think Kinnitty is a bank run operation. The strip was okay'd for us for publication with the previous manager Kate Draper who is not the manager anymore. The field is fine, I walked it a few weeks back. There are obstacles both ends, and I would as always recommend walking anywhere new first. If you have all the necessary elements then it should work out fine.
