Jump in a Lake.... (LA-4-200 Buccaneer)

Post by aviatorsguide »

Climb a mountain or jump in a lake,
Some head off to exotic places,
Others go to the Galway Races,

This machine can certainly do exotic places, or fly to the Galway races. On behalf of the owner, we have a Lake Amphibian to sell or spilt into shares. Full detail on the machine here on Planecheck http://www.planecheck.com?ent=da&id=16363 and in summary this is a good chance to get into a low time, original Lake Buccaneer. This is one of the "Killaloe 4" and the provenance is superb. The aircraft was operated for years by Lord Waterpark, head of CSE Oxford and then here in Ireland by PJ McGoldrick. Now on the american register, it becomes a managable proposition for a private owner or syndicate. Check on type available with experienced Lake pilot. When you consider a new Lake Renegade will cost over 10 times the price, and do very little more you have to sit up and take notice. Here you have a 4 seat retractable, that offers similar landplane performance to a 172 but can take to the water and open up hundreds more destinations. The joy of landing at Coosan Point and dropping the wheels, taxing up out of the water and jumping out in front of a crowd to head in for a beverage has a cool factor that has to be experienced. 8)

While it would be a shame to let this aircraft away overseas following all the rest, it is up for sale and best bid secures. If split in shares we are working on an Athlone base, but would consider a person offering lakeside access and hangarage as a non paying partner to the group.

We are looking to get the last few straglers who are interested in a share in a Lake Amphibian. We have 3 people, with a few more maybe's to form a group based in Abbeyshrule or Weston (Depending on new owner :-) and based on midlands water during the summer. Ideal airplane to own a share in as you could never rent one. Many would have them down as a complex, troublesome beast but once you have proper maintenance & training - they are no bother at all. A nice selection of aircraft available at the moment, I'm off to look at a few tm. The plan would be to get a very comprehensively equipped 200EP with all the goodies. Be nice to stem the outbound flow of aircraft departing these shores.

Cost of a 1/5th share likely to be €12-16,000 and running costs similar to a Piper Arrow. Speak now or forever hold your piece.
