Must have been timed to keep the toffee-nosed snobs away .....femalepw1 wrote:Duly Noted but less than 24 hours notice isnt much notice really is it?
I presume that this was a private party for the staff of Aer Lingus to celebrate their 75th year.femalepw1 wrote:Jeeeezzz, Would have been nice to hear about this one guys/gals, Pity Air Lingus didn't use this opportunity more to their advantage and promote their little air show a bit more publicly especially to the rest of us GA pilots & aviation enthusiasts, Must have been a private affair / invite only to the 'golden circle' gang of Irish aviation, Usual suspects invited of course judging from the photos!
Pity really, aviation enthusiasts, pilots young and old would have enjoyed the spectacle if they had have known about it, might have nurtured the 'Aviation Comradre' that seems lacking in irish aviation today!! Then again Irish Avation seems like its still riddled with the toffee-nosed snobs it always has been......
Rant Over!
Great to see ''bravo india'' back flying once more!
have to say.....if Oshkosh can handle over ten thousand aircraft in a week on two runways, including IFR traffic...Dublin can handle at least a couple of hundred GA aircraft....enough said.hum wrote:Announced here B4 the event... Anyone could have seen the display by simply turning up to Dublin airport on the day...
I think the reason it was not open to all GA traffic was that Dublin airport is extremely busy and could not accept large numbers of GA movements. It was a major exercise to get the 20 or so invited aircraft in and out on the day from using the temporarily re-opened Rwy 29 with minimum disruption to IFR traffic... Most GA aircraft crews actually missed the Blades, Airbus and Iolar display as they had to leave b4 it started...
It was a nice occasion though...
