HI All,

below are a list of some of the errors in the guide. I'm completing an update at the moment and would be very grateful for any assistance you might be able to offer me.

Please have a look at other posting to make sure your info is indeed new.

Of course I will have a raffle for books & apps for everyone who takes the trouble to post here.
And of course I would like to thank everyone I met who commented on my book. I really appreciate that.

05/08/06 - Navan Airfield - (page 122) Correct frequency is 118.125
05/08/06 - RATHCOOLE - Donal McCarthy (page 128) - The strip is approx 450 Mtrs approx NOT 630 Mtrs. (the field to the W had been included in 630M - is no longer available)
21/05/06 - Dermot Forde - Cregboy (page 57) - The strip is 260 Mtrs NOT 350 Mtrs.
21/05/06 - Michael Garvey - Clonmellon (Page 49) has contacted me. Please do NOT contact this strip - He does NOT want visitors - PPR is by invitation only.
21/05/06 - Trevet (Page 149) should read N53 NOT N52
21/05/06 - Blackwater Creek (Murvagh) (Page 41) should read W8 not W7

Kevin, judging by the resonses on the subject of the landing fees on the three arran strips and mention of IAA posting up some notice about out of hours landings ( not sure what that has to do with IAA though) can i suggest that the info on the islands is in need of an update.

Possibly due to the economic situation at the moment - the question of charges is a bit of a changing playing-field ? - I will try to address it in some way.

N 52d36m17s W008d25m07s you might mention that it can be soft off the edges of the strip pse..

Kevin, could you change the indexing arrangement, I never managed to get the hang of it!
Also the airfield marked on the map as 2C3 does not seem to exist?

Regarding the Map index - My intention is to simply reference the page number.
134 on the map will be page 134 - simple.

Any other improvements ?

That's a great idea Kevin. Last year I bought a new unlaminated map, and bought some small pink circular stickers. It took me some time, but I went through your book page by page and marked each airfield on a map with a sticker and wrote the corresponding page number from your book on each sticker. When my little project was complete I laminated the map myself with some see through adhesive book covering, now when I am doing my flight planning I know if my route takes me over these strips. Would also be handy incase of the need to divert. Thanks again Kevin, your book is amazing. Part of my new years resolution is to visit 20 new strips this year. Your strip of course is one of them.

Any plans for a CD/DVD ROM version,Kevin? Or perhaps a version in adobe reader .pdf format for use on smart phones?

A Garmin-uploadable waypoints database would be great, along with a pdf version. I appreciate this could however result in a wider distribution than Kevin might intend .......

I have all the waypoints in Kevins book entered on my Garmin GPS + many more too. They are available to download from my website at http://www.RuskeyAirfield.com under the "Forms" tab. They are simple to upload using Garmins Mapsource software.
I know for a fact when Kevin brings out the new book it will be bought by everyone that has the original one. it is without doubt the best publication for GA in Ireland and a must if you fly here.

Looking at the map, Inishbofin and Cleggan are still sitting there uselessly, does anyone know whether any vote-hungry candidate might have promised to get them opened? It's even worse than some of the West of Scotland madness, to have two little airports that closed before they had even opened! Maybe Nama might take them on?

Kevin - I am pretty sure Monamolin, Co Wexford has gone. I used to get a 172 in there (with a bit of buttock clenching), but latterly I have moved my Irish trips to a strip up the road (if you know where I mean). The last time I was at Monamolin the 'runway' had been eaten into by some large ruts from a lorry. Then the resident microlight moved away and I think that was it. I meant to drive by last time I was over but family commitments stopped me.

Kevins guide has been a god save......didnt have a cable to send file to gps re lat/longs so manually punched all the fields in......it's very handy en route somewhere knowing there's a strip in the vicinity should u need it.
