Very interesting stuff.
Note that the Minister decided to go against the recommendations of his own department and retained the PSO route into Kerry (presumably that had something to do with the fella in the check cloth cap).
What it also seems to highlight is that it is hard to achieve high passenger volumes if you don't have a runway that can take medium sized commercial jets. Something all those objectors to the runway extension at Sligo might want to think about (although maybe they'll be happy if they are left with no airport at all).
It also shows that they have been doing quite a good job at Knock in bringing in tourists to the region and not being totally dependent on PSO routes.
