Successive failures may create possibility of plaintiff being declared a frivolous and/or vexatious litigant - Google "Isaac Wunder"...made several reports to state authorities including, Health & Safety Authority, Inland Fisheries, North Tipperary Environment, Coilte and the IAA to name a few. From all his best efforts non of the above mentioned have found any wrong doing during their investigations of the site and has led to no further actions.

Nice Quote. I like it...
and that is certainly what we hope to be the case at this stage jm2833530.
A man can only cry wolf so many times...
it should be a criminal offence in my opinion to use state resources in this fashion.

Re: Support Erinagh Airfield
I wonder how much of the Tax Payers money has been wasted by the planning authority on this case. i have written to the local Labour TD (he helped the locals to stir the poo in the early days of this case) several times but surprise surprise i have not even had the manners of a reply!!! However the next election is only 4 years away and i will write again.
has AOPA been of any assistance with this one?
Best of luck to the Hanleys and make sure to visit the strip as often as possible.

Re: Support Erinagh Airfield
Said local Labour TD is now Minister of State at the Dept of Transport. I had written to him in support of Erinagh when all of this started and like Fanstop I never got a reply either.

Re: Support Erinagh Airfield
Any up dates on the future if Erinagh?????
Re: Support Erinagh Airfield
Erinagh is still there and will remain. Remember this case is AGAINST the local council because of their behaviour.
But it's dragging on for all the usual legal reasons.
But it is important for ALL airfields.

Re: Support Erinagh Airfield
I'm confused? I thought that they were trying to shut down the airfield?

The Council are trying to shut down the airfield. That is why there is a High Court Case Pending an out come.

Re: Support Erinagh Airfield
I see on NOTAMs that EIER is permanently withdrawn (dated 21st November). Does that mean the airfield is now closed?
Re: Support Erinagh Airfield
Haven't heard anything. Maybe it's just a case of letting the airfield licence lapse. That won't stop it's use as an airfield. Don't think the court case has been resolved yet. Maybe Tim will enlighten us.
Re: Support Erinagh Airfield
Very disappointed to hear that Erinagh airfield is no longer licensed. Private licensed airfields are a very precious resource for sport flying.
Is there any hope of reinstatement of the licence for Erinagh?

Re: Support Erinagh Airfield
Hello all.
EIER is closed for now to all traffic. I settled the high court case with local council out of court, but had to close the airfield as part of the settlement. The license was not revoked but rather cancelled by myself. Planning permission will now have to be sought and granted before any flying can resume. This is an unfortunate situation but one which I could not have avoided due to exposure of huge costs a high court case can bring.
My brother and I will be making a planning application in the future so do not give up on Erinagh.
