I have been working for an aircraft spare parts company for the last 18 months - we buy the likes of a 737, break it up, and sell or lease the spares, engines etc

The one area i struggle with a little is with regard to engines i.e. the workings/what a hpt blade is/what the combustor is etc - I struggle to hold a conversation on this subject and I need to be able to in order to advance in my job.

Any idea if there are any intensive courses out there that might help me?

Hey,

Im not aware of any courses out there that'll just concentrate on the Gas Turbine Engine.
But i do know as i study for my ATPL's that the notes i have are great at explaining
everything you ask of. They're self study notes too which will save you a few yoyo's aswell.
I have these manuals on a PDF format if you'd like me to send it onto you.

I suggest for your purposes (career development) you would be better off with a 4-day or 5-day short course, rather than self-study from a multimedia course. Of course that depends on how much you (or your employer) are willing to spend (typically £1000 to £2000 for a short course) and whether you can be released for a week.

You already have an advantage of practical knowledge of dealing with engines and parts; you have a lot of knowledge already and just need some theoretical explanations to put this knowledge into context and make it all make sense.
