As far as I know, the strip at Cashel / Ballydoyle is no longer
used by fixed wing aircraft. This has been the case for at least
10 years now. Helicopters are the only craft using that location.
The nearest active strip is, I think Fethard / Coolbawn. 8nm NE
of Ballydoyle and 3.5nm N of Fethard. It was active in 2001, but
I'm not sure if it still is now. It was run by Michael Smyth snr,
phone 052-38365. Oddly enough although Tipperary is full of
strips, the area around Cashel has very few indeed.
