Waterford Aero Club Fly-In **Changed** Now August 22nd

Post by Lambada Crazy » Sun Jun 28, 2009 9:50 pm

Hi Guys,

Waterford Aero Club will have their Annual Fly-In BBQ on the weekend of the 22/23 August. Its going to be great this year! Hopefully we will have some nice weather for it. As normal, the event is free! All landings and Parking Fees have been waivered by Waterford Airport.

There will be an "Arrival" Question for all the attendees of the Fly-In, weather by Air, Road, Rail or Foot! It will be a straight forward question, A right answer will be drawn from a hat on the end of the night and the winner will win a One Hour Sim Session in a BAE 146 Aircraft, Sponsored by Air Atlantic Adventure in Shannon.

We will also have an Aviation Quiz i the evening, where the top prize is a Sim Session in a Boeing 737-800NG Aircraft. There will be 2 runners up of Flight Computers, Sponsored by Euro Pilot.

The third competition that will take place is the Best ETA Time, This competition is only available to Air Passengers and the Prize is a landing card for Cork Airport & a Flight Computer. All you have to do is register on our website www.waterfordaeroclub.com and put in your exact ETA, the time recorded is the landing time ATC gives you.

If you could bring your own beer that would be great! The grass is nice and cut for anyone that wants to camp! We will attach a list of accomodation and basic ATC procedures soon!

It would be great if everyone attending could register as it will give ourselves and ATC an idea of who is coming.

Safe Flying,

LC

Looks fantastic this year.

I haven't been to the fly-in since '05 or '06, but hopefully I'll make It this year in as i'm back home on Independence Day.

PS: Would it not be better to assign people slots to arrive?
Cause if i arrive at 11am and someone has the exact same time....
One of us is gonna have to wait for on another
Just an idea

Hi Lambada Crazy and all.

Hope to make it down for the fly-in & will register closer to the time.

As I am coming from EIAB, I presumably will have additional paperwork to complete so can you send on, am sure it will take me a few days!! :)

Awww :(

Unfortunately I'll be in the UK that weekend. Can't make it. Is there a backup weekend in case the weather isn't up to it (so I can keep that weekend free)?

We havent got a backup date planned yet pilot. But i have spoken to god and he promised some good weather this year.

Why would there be extra paperwork from EIAB?

Hi Guys,

Looks like were all set for next weekend! If this high pressure moves east we could get a fantastic weekend. I have put up on the website an information packet, which include mandatory requirments from waterford ATC, requirements ad prizes for the competitions, information on Hotels, B&Bs and finally general information about the event.

I just want to thank mark for donating 2 Annual Subsciptions to the Prize Fund, we now have a few more competitions.

Here it is here ; http://www.waterfordaeroclub.com/fly-in.pdf

PLease read it carefully as all info is there,

Any questions just send me a PM, or e-mail

Not long now! The event is scheduled for this Saturday, August 22nd. We've booked the weather, we've swept the hangar, and, we have 28 aircraft registered already. :D

See the fly-in page on the Waterford Aero Club website for pilot information and the registration page: http://waterfordaeroclub.com/flyin.html
