    Fuel / Landing Fee Watch?

    by TrickyDicky » Sat Jan 10, 2009 8:48 pm

    Hi All.
How about everybody posting fuel price (with and without VAT) and landing parking fees for all airports in Ireland (N and S). Also any info on deals to be had on refueling aircraft ie no landing fees.

Might just stimulate some competition to our benefit if we support the cheaper airfields.

don't forget you should be entitled to duty free avgas going north. also if i would be interested to know if same rules apply as in uk where we can reclaim tax back on mogas. at 50.35p/ltr it makes the effort in sending in the paperwork worth while. there is a bit about tax drawback in the latest pilot mag in the aopa section.

forgive my ignorance, apart from the mandatory flight plan to go to enniskillen are they still at the prevention of terrorism form to be submitted days before or can i just head off. Ideally sounds like a nice trip and load her up with juice at half the price.

    Hey Guys,

Im from the south and need to fill my Bowser.
Where is the chepest spot that will actually fill a bowser.
Presume filling a flight plan for the bowser and heading to Enniskillen wont work !!! :D
What is the cost of fuel in Enniskillen with the duty and the vat added on.

    Thanks,

It has to be Enniskillen. How can duty free be beaten?

With the exchange rate flying is cheaper up there too. Costs me about 140 euro/hour to fly a Pa-28 Archer. It was costing me 180/190 about 6 months ago

    Hi,

For any pilot in Ireland or Northern Ireland I have created a simple free online database for submitting fuel prices, landing fees, club fees and details, hangarage without currently requiring login or password. Your email is required (to contact a user if absolutely necessary) but is never revealed to the public. This will allow pilots to assess best value for some of flying's costs.

If it is successful I would envisage adding the ability to track say costs for maintenance like 50hrs, annuals etc too. It is possible for anyone to embed the application in their website too if they wish and I would be happy to give the whole thing away to any organisation that saw it as complementary or beneficial to improving flying. e.g. Flying In Ireland

For now take a look at http://creator.zoho.com/irishpilot/pilotwatch/#
It only takes two things to fly:--- airspeed and money.

Just to let you all know that Knock Airport sell avgas and they also fill bowsers.

Their price for February is €1.87 plus Vat per litre.
