Does anyone know if this aircraft was in formation with another?
There was talk on 123.45 today from a couple of aeroplanes near Roscommon and I took one may have had a problem as they were discussing oil pressure on one of them.... I am not saying it was this one but the times/location was about right..... I left the frequency as I was approaching a strip I was landing at and never though anything about it, until I have heard this.

RIP to the pilot, my thoughts and condolences are with his family.

Jon.

Hi guys I was at knock from about 2 o'clock till 7 o'clock. Picked up the lot on my scanner, Can say of 100% that it was EI-BHT that crashed, Came into knock with EI-CCM, A R44 that was in the area landed at the crash site minutes after EI-BHT crashed. EI-AOB was also over head at one stage helping rescue services find the crash site. A very sad day for me today. R.I.P.

My condolences to family and friends and I hope the other man has a speedy recovery, Really wish I had not heard it on the scanner, didn't get much sleep last night. Seen EI-BHT taking off, she looked a bit slow and heavy as it left the runway, but didn't look in any danger of crashing at the time. I can say for 100% knock tower, knock fire and rescue services and aircraft in the area all did everything they could have done. And have a big THANK YOU from me.

Divine, my deepest sympathies go out to you and to all his family and friends.

We met him once or twice, and have fond memories talking all things aeroplanes with him outside the beer tent at the PFA rally two years ago. Though it was a cold and damp night, the camaraderie and conversation was was warm. He struck me as a man who had a passion for aviation but the valued his friendships and relationships even more. I know he'll be missed by those who know him. I'm sorry I won't get the chance to know him better.

Markus had a lovely funeral yesterday (Friday) with a super homily from a member of Galway Flying Club.
