How to be an AFISO or ATC

Post by GJOYT »

Hi everyone, just wondering how you can get to be an AFISO or even an ATC in both IAA and CAA. I am already aware of the IAA website with the controller programme but you have to be 19 to apply but what about AFISO?? I would like to be an AFISO or even an ATC at a regional airport.

I believe they advertise on their own websites. I just finished my final ATC Interview today with the IAA and they only recruit every 2-3 years.

It just I never saw anything to do with being an AFISO? So how did your interview go? Where was it?

You might be better off contacting the airports or checking their websites regularly. Interview was an interesting one, a few tough enough questions but overall was alright. I cannot say until I get a result back. :P Interviews are now in the IAA HQ on Hawkins St.
